I'm Daniel Ulisses. I design and automate cloud platforms.
Senior DevOps Engineer & Cloud Architect. 15+ years in IT, from datacenters to Azure, AWS and GCP.
I'm a Senior DevOps Engineer and Cloud Architect with 15+ years in IT. I started out racking servers, running VMware datacenters and keeping Exchange alive, and today I design and automate cloud platforms on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
Most of my work sits where architecture meets automation: Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Terragrunt, CI/CD with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes (mostly AKS) delivered through GitOps with Argo CD. I've worked on cloud migrations, enterprise data platforms, greenfield Kubernetes builds and a lot of "let's bring this brownfield estate under IaC" projects.
Having run infrastructure the hard way for years (networks, firewalls, storage, load balancers) makes me a better cloud engineer: I know what's under the abstractions. Lately I'm spending more and more time on AI engineering for operations, using LLMs and agents to take toil off infrastructure teams, safely.

Focus areas
Cloud architecture
Azure-first but fluent in AWS and GCP: landing zones, networking, identity, migrations and data platforms on Microsoft Fabric and Databricks.
IaC, CI/CD & Kubernetes
Terraform, Terragrunt and Terratest, Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions pipelines, AKS delivered with GitOps and Argo CD.
AI engineering for DevOps
Enterprise AI rollouts like Gemini Enterprise, plus LLMs and agents for IaC review, incident triage and runbook automation, with proper guardrails.
Knowledge sharing
Clear documentation, presentations and hands-on sessions, so the teams I work with can own what we build.

Gemini Enterprise at large scale
Rolling out Google Gemini Enterprise across a large organisation: platform setup, identity and access, data connectors, governance and security guardrails, and enablement for the people using it.

How I like to work
Teach while building
The best platform is one the whole team understands. I pair, document and record walkthroughs as I go, so nobody depends on me to run what I built.
Everything as code
Infrastructure, policies, pipelines, dashboards. If it is not in Git and reviewed, it does not exist.
Boring technology first
Managed services and well-known CNCF projects before custom tooling. The most maintainable platform is the one your next hire already knows.
AI with guardrails
LLMs and agents are great teammates for operations, as long as they go through the same reviews, permissions and audit trails as everyone else.
